CHERUBS - The Association of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Research
April 4, 2013

CHERUBS IS NOT JUST A SUPPORT GROUP ~ ONCE A MEMBER YOU BECOME FAMILY ! They are there through the ups and downs of that CDH rollercoaster and always provide support, love and comfort. I dont know where my family would be without them . When my granddaughter was diagnosed at 17 weeks I didnt know where to turn when the doctors were telling my daughter it was best to just abort the pregnancy because the survival rate was not good. They couldnt answer the numerous questions we had so I went to the computer and researched it , there I found my new found "family" , people whom I could tell my fears and ask questions that the doctors couldnt answer , these members were there , and they could respond with HOPE , because they have been on this roller coaster ride themselves and know the journey were were about to take. CHERUBS has members all over the world , so there is always someone to talk to no matter what time of the day it is

My Grand-daughter was diagnosed with CDH ( congenital diphragmatic hernia) at 17 weeks gestation , at first she was misdiagnosed and finally they sent my daughter into a hospital in Boston and they realized what it was , not that they gave my daughter much hope , the doctors kept trying to talk her into an abortion stating that the chances of the baby surviving werent good at all , which they are right , babys born with CDH only have a 50% chance of survival . That is the only information that they had for my family so I went to the internet to research and thats where I found CHERUBS ~ families who have been , are going or had gone through exactly what my family now faced ...when you first receive diagnosis you feel all alone ...once you find your way to CHERUBS , you find a new "family" one that gives you much hope and support ....they will ride that CDH rollercoaster with you over and over and be there no matter what , as I said " family" , all over the world ~ I dont know what we would do with out them !

My granddaughter wad diagnosed with cdh at 17 weeks gestation ..at first doctors didn't know what the problem was they thought it was CCAM after many tests they finally diagnosed with CDH..not that they had much information to give us other than the survival rate was not good and my daughter should terminate the pregnancy. With no information from the doctors I researched the internet and found CHERUBS ..our salvation ..this is more than just a support group..its a family...a family that has members all over the world who are readily available to give you support when needed from people who know exactly what you are going through. Because they have been there. I am so glad to have found CHERUBS and proudly call them "family"

When my granddaughter was diagnosed with CDH the doctors didn't give us much information so I took to the computer and found CHERUBS ~ thank God ! I found a fantastic support system that has been there every step of the way , people who actually know what you are going through because they have been through it themselves . What a surprise it was when one day I came home from the hospital after visiting my granddaughter to find a package from CHERUBS with so much information, and things we would need to use while she was in NICU , like hand sanitizer, camera, even a coloring book for my grandson to help explain to him at his level what was going on with his new sister. THANK YOU CHERUBS FOR ALL YOU DO FOR ALL OF US ALL OVER THE WORLD !! With CHERUBS you get more than support you get a whole other family !

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Boston MA

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If I had to make changes to this organization I would give it more money so that they are able to raise much more awareness say like in tv commericals etc so that more people are aware of this disease .
