Review for Operation Gratitude Inc, Encino, CA, USA
Here's to Operation Gratitude, an organization that provides so much to so many. First, to the more than 600,000 (and still counting) men and women in the Military who have received individual care packages filled with snacks and entertainment products, and most importantly, containing personal letters of appreciation from children and adults. In addition, Operation Gratitude provides an opportunity for thousands of volunteers to express their love and gratitude to the U.S. Service Men and Women who are deployed in harms way.
Since its inception, we have been both donors and volunteers at Operation Gratitude packaging events. We have seen first hand the outpouring of love and respect for the men and women of the Military which this organization has engendered. As a veteran of both World War II and the Korean conflict, there can be nothing more heart warming.
This is truly a unique and exciting organization.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
being part of the process of packaging and then reading the many letters from the servicemen who have received packages expressing their own gratitude that "someone cares."
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
try to convince the postal service that these packages should be carried without postage. It costs Operation Gratitude about $15.00 postage for each package, an enormous sum considering the number of packages shipped each year.
