PARENT EDUCATION & ADVOCACY LEADERSHIP CENTER
February 17, 2011
There are so many reasons why I believe the Peal Center should be selected he Guidestar $5,000 non-profit sweepstakes. I loved the Peal Center Parent Leadership Class which gave me the confidence and knowledge to become the Cochair Parent of the Bucks County Right to Educate Local Task Force. They teach you how to be effective advocate for your child as well as the importance of improving the system (i.e. education, healthcare, work force) for the next child. Peal host a conference every year that focus on the rights of children with disabilities. The conference is filled with wonderful speakers and an excellent resource fair as well a time to relax and socialize with other parents who “get it.” Most importantly, when ever you need words of encouragement you can always call for support!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
My organization: The Bucks County Right to Education Local Task Force, Bucks County Intermediate Unit, 705 N. Shady Retreat Road, Doylestown, PA 18901, 800-770-4822 Ext: 2139
The Bucks County Right to Educate Task Force provides a public forum that promotes collaboration among parents, educators, and community agency professionals to address issues affecting all students receiving Special Education services in order to strengthen and improve programs and supports in Bucks County.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would give them more funds so they could support more parents!
General Member of the Public & I help other parents in Bucks County advocate for their child's education right..
