I have been supporting this charity since the beginning for I lived in Guatemala for 24 years and found them to be the most honest and caring charity I have ever known. When the big mud slides occurred, the director used her own money to buy food and collect blankets and clothing for the hundreds of people who lost their homes and families. They care for the people as though it was their family.

For years I have watched Mayan Families grow with so much integrity, helping young and old alike. When the school kids need shoes, they are there. When old people need medicine or hospitalization, they help. Once there was a family that hid a young boy in the house because he was deformed. They helped establish a normal life for him, being with other children outside and no longer hidden. They feed and cloth so many. They also have a clinic where many get help. There are no middle men. Once there was a flood and they fed hundreds and hundreds of people who either lost their home or members of their family or both. They even find homes for dogs. Once when I visited there were more than 20 dogs in various parts of the grounds hiding.

I have personally experienced the results of this organization as it is run by a very dear friend of mine in Guatemala whom I visit as often as possible. That is when I have seen what I described above.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
see to it that they somehow received more outside help so
they could help more people.
Donor & I contributed financially.
