Lindsey's Place
April 11, 2013

Lindsey's Place is like nothing else in this area. It provides a camping experience for children and young adults. The things I like the most are that the people involved really care about this organization and the campers. Also, the organization isn't limited to just one type of disability. It is open to people with all different types of disabilities.

Lindsey's Place

It’s so great to finally have a place in the southeast area that affords children and young adults with disabilities a place where they can have fun and enjoy a camping experience like so many other non-disabled individuals. Lindsey’s Place allows young people with all types of disabilities, to engage in camp-like activities that they would normally miss out on. They do so many fun things during camp– they sing, dance, play games, draw, paint, and make new friends. Life can be so challenging and hard for these children a daily basis. If you’re ever fortunate enough to see the faces of these special young people light up while at camp, it’s something that you will never forget. Lindsey’s Place is a wonderful organization. It’s definitely a special place for very special people.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've seen how much this camp means to someone with disabilities. It is something they genuinely enjoy and look forward to.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would love to see this organization grow so big that it would be able to afford every disabled person the opportunity to have a place to camp.

MY ROLE:
Board Member & I've volunteered my time to help with fundraisers or whatever else needs to be done in order to help keep this organization going.
