Cancer Schmancer Foundation

I am a uterine cancer survivor! I had three operations, d&c, endometrial oblation, & the last one a complete hysterectomy. At first I was taken from my home to the ER as the bleeding wouldn't stop. The nurse had to use trauma dressing to wipe the blood. Then the doctor came in and told me it was just heavy periods and that I was going home. Needless to say the nurse was upset and asked if the doctor examined me which he did NOT. He was back in the room in minutes. I had ten blood transfusions and my hair was falling out just by touching it. Didn't have any family support I remember being soooo weak and after HOURS of blood transfusions would have to pick up my son who is adult handicapped with a brain tumor and he had to go through a series of radiation treatments. My heart was breaking having noone there for me. : / We watch "The Nanny" all the time and Fran what a fabulous person you are to share your story and reach out to others!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
By telling others how important early detection is!!!
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I wouldn't change a thing but feel its important to become active and reach out to help others dealing with the "BIG C".
Volunteer & I was there for a friend who recently lost her battle with breast cancer. .
