Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
February 9, 2011
As a volunteer at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank I am always awed not just by the number of people they help but by the resourcefulness and efficiency of the staff. It's rewarding to volunteer there because they are well prepared for the volunteer crew, provide clear instructions and the necessary materials, and have plenty for us to do. They educate volunteers about their programs and about the need for their services without being preachy. I am so confident that the Bank uses its resources wisely that I contribute money every month.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the satisfaction I receive from volunteering there and the knowledge I've gained about their operations and about the need for their services.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
make it more possible to volunteer in the evening and on weekends. Really, it is run very well.
Would you volunteer for this group again?
For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?
Did the organization use your time wisely?
Would you recommend this group to a friend?
Volunteer & I packed boxes of food and cleaning supplies for distribution to the food pantries the Bank serves.
