DISCOVERY GREEN CONSERVANCY
February 8, 2011

Discovery Green is a wonderful gem in the middle of downtown Houston. Likely the most programmed plot of land in the city, Discovery Green hosts everything from wonderful exercise classes that draw residents of all ages, races and fitness levels; to silent movie nights, concerts and exhibits. And most of it is absolutely free! I personally discovered Zumba and Yoga at the park, and have attended countless free concerts and movies there. And when I just want a nice, quiet place to read or throw a Frisbee, Disovery Green is perfect for that too. It is one of my absolute favorite spots in the city, and it serves such a diverse mix of people.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I personally discovered Zumba and Yoga in the park. It is so wonderful to have fun, free exercise classes that encourage you to want to get fit. I've also attended the farmer's market, held here every weekend, along with bicycle repair clinics, movies, concerts and ice skating in the park.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would add even more programming. It is already so well programmed, but I would welcome even more, creative programming, such as some of the art exhibits, or dance classes.
