Review for JEWISH FAMILY SERVICES, Columbus, OH, USA

Rating: 5 stars

JFS was there when I needed them the most. I was blindsided with job downsiding and was terrified about the prospects of job hunting especially at my age, 55. My contact and confident and counselor at JFS, Karen Hughes, was wonderful. She gave me guidance, skills, and confidence to forge ahead with my new career direction. I thought I could find a job without anyone's help but "I didn't know what I didn't know" until I experienced the JFS job seminars, work fairs, mock interviewing and networking opportunities. I have recommended JFS's SUCCESS program to many professional colleagues who have experienced the same life crisis as I did. I came out ahead of the game with a wonderful job and a much more confident attitude about getting through life's little setbacks. A bonus was making good friends and learing to give back to others through networking for others.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

feeling as though I wasn't alone.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

extremely professional, compassionate and had wonderful senses of humor. I needed that!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

most likely single-handedly solve the major unemployment problems that we are experiencing in Ohio. With their help, many more Ohio based professionals would be employed.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to devote to all of the programs and opportunities that JFS had to offer.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the ability to be able to help the number of professionals who would benefit from their services.

One thing I'd also say is that...

JFS's SUCCESS program provided me with services that made my life better. Without them, I would not have made it this far. I want to thank them for everything and let them know that they made a hug difference in my life.
