I was an intern with the ABC/NY's 2010 Multicultural Arts Management Internship Program where I was granted the amazing opportunity to receive an insider's crash course on the non-profit arts community of New York. The program effectively wove together workshops, visits to prominent nonprofit organizations, and firsthand work experience in a passionate NY nonprofit to foster our understanding of the particular blend of passion, ingenuity, and keen management skills that make the arts, and the sharing of art with the public, possible. I learned all about nonprofits and our need to create sustainable and effective organizations that will continue to help support the arts community. I can also say positively that each and every intern in the ABC/NY summer internship came away from the program with an expanded knowledge base and even more passion for the arts, arts management, and nonprofits.
