Review for Scooby North America, Leesburg, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I heard about Scooby and the galgo plight via the internet. I contacted the representative and found out how desperate the need was for volunteers. I was given a lot of necessary paperwork to fill out (yes, personal info, but needed to insure that the volunteers are qualified to deal with traumatized dogs and the dire situation at Scooby that could be shocking to some people ). Arrangements were made with efficiency and due diligence. Even housing at Scooby was provided.
Scooby itself is amazing. They spend every penny on the animals and the staff is dedicated and are the most hard working individuals I have ever met. They work under conditions that seem impossible, handling over 500 dogs, most that are traumatized and need medical and emotional healing. All of their effort is done with volunteer work and donations. A shining example of when hearts are committed to change the world.

Review for Greyhound Adoption League Of Texas Inc, Dallas, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Each year this group amazes me with their relentless work at rescuing ANY greyhound from ANY state no matter the costs or labor involved. They lead by example; never turning their back on dogs that have been abandoned, abused, starved, old or in need of extremely expensive medical care, from a blind dog to an ailing female with her litter of sick and dying pups. They taught me to do the same(only on a smaller scale) as I was involved, just as a regular citizen, in the removal of 4 greyhounds that were being starved to death. Even though I do not live in Texas, I continue to support them financially and emotionally. They are a shining example of what a volunteer organization can do to change the world and help those who have no voice.

GALT is an amazing organization dedicated to rescuing any and all retired racers. They were the group that came forward to save all the Fort Worth greyhounds that were starved and ill this year. They did so with no consideration of the expense, time and effort it would entail. Instead of saying we cant do it, they said we will find a way and they did with much sucess. I donate money to this group knowing it will be used totally to the benefit of the retired greyhounds: be they unadoptable, sick, abused or old. They are there for these dogs no matter what and I am in awe of how they run their organization.

How does this organization compare with others in the same sector?

Very Well

Life-changing

Will you recommend this organization to others?

Definitely

What is unique about this organization?

The expertise in which this group is run is amazing. Most greyhound groups are grass-root organizations that are only affective on a local level. GALT has managed to be heard nationally and their voice has made life for so many greyhounds so much better
