Good Counsel, Inc. is more than a pregnancy care center; it is a place for a woman in crisis to find a home. When a pregnant mom comes to Good Counsel, she receives more than shelter; she receives medical care, parenting classes and job training assessments. She becomes part of a "family" that longs to see her succeed. When her baby is born, the mom can stay for a year or more, working on the parenting skills, the life skills, and the job skills that she needs to be a contributing part of society. She is helped to find a place to live and a job. Programs continue after she leaves, giving her a lifeline to continue her progress and a safety net to steady her.
