Lazarus Ministries at Grand Avenue Temple
November 30, 2010

Lazarus Ministries (LM) provides meals, shelter, clothing, medical services, and a loving spirit to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless of Kansas City. Many of those who seek support from LM are people whose families have given up on them and have no other place to turn. What I've learned from working with those who are served by LM is that life in our society is complicated and not everyone is equipped with the skills to maintain a permanent home, job, car, red tape, insurance, etc. Some lack the ability because of mental illness and others were just born that way. Nevertheless, LM loves them just as God does.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I see the results of LM each and every week during Bible Study when sojourners served by LM speak of how blessed they are, how grateful they are to receive the services. It is truly rewarding when one of them becomes employed, moves into their own apartment or is reunited with their family through guidance from LM.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand the physical facilities to accommodate a larger medical clinic, and provide space for training life skills and counseling.
