My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Rainforest Action Network, San Francisco, CA, USA
I have several friends who are members with RAN, and I've always loved their actions. I participated in street protests which we cordoned off citigroup ATMS with witty yellow tape saying "Warning: Global warming zone" and we had screen sized stickers giving you fake options! They also sent us stickers to put on candy warning about the deforestation chocolate corporations are causing. The protests this organization comes up with are always fun and interesting, and at the same time giving a nobody like me the chance to fight back! I also helped table for RAN during powershift, and their volunteers know their stuff, and I helped them close down the capitol hill power plants! This organization is the realization of several generations unhappy with environmentally-apathetic businessmen, and they know how to fight back!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
governmental action against mountaintop coal removal, and citigroup "reconsidering" their funding of mountaintop coal removal.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
learning about their several campaigns they are organizing simultaneously.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
enthusiastic, positive, and very fun to hang out with! They are probably the most interesting people I've ever met.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
save the world.
