Homeaid America Inc

HomeAid Sacramento does a tremendous job everyday helping to provide shelter for the temporary homeless. I am so impressed with this organization and the many volunteers that provide time and money to help HomeAid Sacramento help those that need it the most. I have had the honor and privilege to work as a HomeAid Sacramento volunteer for the past seven years and I have loved every minute of it. I have done whatever I have been asked to do which includes fund raising, setting up tables and chairs and then taking them down and cleaning up after the annual Trap Shoot fundraiser, blowing up balloons for the Trap Shoot Archery game, participating in the "Essentials for Young Lives Campaign" which takes place every year January through April by picking up, sorting and delivering diapers, baby food, formula and bottles, and baby wipes to the various shelters that need these supplies for the single mothers and their babies that they are taking care of, making telephone calls to ask for raffle prizes and/or donations for HomeAid Sacramento events, selling raffle tickets this year for the Dinger's Den Playhouse give away at Raley's Field, etc. I love helping HomeAid Sacramento do whatever they need to do in order to provide shelter for the temporary homeless and this organization will always have my financial support and can always count on me to be one of their volunteers no matter what.
HomeAid Sacramento has been instrumental along with the Volunteers of America organization in building and completing the only "Senior Safe House" west of the Rockies in 2009. The "Peace For Families" facility is a 39-bed, 12,500 square foot facility which provides emergency and transitional shelter for women and children was completed in 2008. These are two of the most recent projects that HomeAid Sacramento has completed with help from many donors and volunteers and which help meet a tremendous need in and around the Sacramento area.
I love HomeAid Sacramento because of all of the good that they do for those that need it the most and it is truly an honor and a privilege for me to be associated with HomeAid Sacramento.
Thank you HomeAid Sacramento for all that you do to make a difference in the lives of the many people on a daily basis.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
many of the shelters that they have restored, and/or built such as the "Senior Safe House" completed in 2009, the 39-bed, 12,500 square foot "PEACE For Families Shelter" completed in 2008, the addition of showers to the "Winter Shelter" at Cal Expo completed in 2007 and the 154-bed, 13,000 square foot " Winter Shelter" at Cal Expo completed in 2006.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
find a way to raise more money for HomeAid Sacramento so they can do more of what they do everyday for those that need it the most and that is to provide shelter for the temporary homeless.
I feel that Homeaid Sacramento is well run and helps meet a tremendous need in and around the Sacramento area.
Volunteer & and am a volunteer, helper, fundraiser, pick-up and delivery person.
