Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis
October 25, 2010

I have worked with Variety, the Children's Charity of St. Louis for over 3 years now and I grow more fond of them each year. I mainly help with their Adventure Camp but also volunteer for other events throughout the year. I love playing and having fun with the kids and seeing their faces light up. Variety means everything to a lot of these kids and their families and I completely understand why.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing parents overjoyed that their kids are playing with other kids and simply having fun. Whether it's Adventure Camp, or Toy Trolley, or Variety Theatre, the kids just love that they can be themselves

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

work on time management and organization of activities (ie during camp)

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

It taught me to value what I have in life and don't take anything for granted. It also taught me to see a person for what they truly are and not just what they appear to be...that you have to look into people's hearts to see what they're really like.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

made me feel great to make the children laugh and smile.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

Volunteer & I helped kids feel like kids first and not physically challenged. .
