Raising Special Kids
October 5, 2010
I have been invovled with Raising Special Kids (RSK) for the past two years as a board member. Before this I called on RSK for help in my position with the school system using RSK to support and help families who may be struggling with the special education process and needed a supporting hand with the process. They have done training for us to provide parents the guidance they needed to attend IEP meetings to feel successful and to be listened to by school personnel. They have helped many families in our distict and districts across the state. From advocacy at the state level to the individual family advocacy this organzation had helped thousands of families across Arizona. Families would be lost without this organization. My hat is off to RSK and all they do to support and provide information to everyone involved in the disability movement. THANK YOU!!!!!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
having RSK invovled in IEP meetings and also training our families in our district. They have imiproved relationships between staff and families.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Helping families learn special education processes so they can be good advocates for their children.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Committed and dedicated to making a difference for families and individuals with disabilities. They have supported and provided needed infromation to families across Arizona.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Expand and do the grea things it has going for the organization.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every week
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
Board Member & The last role I had was helping with the golf tournament to raise funds.
