HALF THE SKY FOUNDATION
September 23, 2010
My son, born with a cleft lip and palate, was brought into the HTS program for failure to thrive at one month old. With the nannies attentive care and attention he grew into a strong and healthy little boy when we adopted him at 14 months old.
I know this because I was provided a history of his care, included with photos and other information about him. I also received a CD with photos and two short videos. While we, his parents, are thrilled to have this vital history, I am so glad that my son has the opportunity to know as much as possible about his life before he because part of a family in the US. This information will help his sense of self and development.
His main caretaker left him a sweet note to let him know he was loved and well-cared for.
And all of this much needed early care and attention shows every day. My son is at age for almost every developmental milestone. He was able to attach with us and is happy, trusting and confident. I know that I have Half the Sky nannies to thank for their wonderful care.
They also arranged for him to receive surgery on his lip while at the orphanage, which was well done and needs no further repair.
This is a great organization! All of their work in orphanages is vital.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
looking at my son every day.
He is happy, healthy and confident due to the early excellent care he received shortly after he was born and brought into the Half the Sky program.
