Cat Network, Inc.
July 30, 2010
The Cat Network has made a tremendously positive impact on the welfare of cats in Miami, Florida. With the year-long sub-tropical weather, cats in this area breed year round and the stray cat population is estimated around half a million. Cat Network, since its inception in 1996, has been able to spay and neuter almost 60,000 cats. I have played a part in the organization as one of the veterinarians that performs the spay & neuter surgeries. In the last 18 months, I've personally sterilized close to 3,000 cats for Cat Network, and we are still going strong! The organization also makes an impact in the rescue/adoption of cats that are placed in loving homes, educating the public, and intervening in issues where cats interface with the population. There are several dedicated volunteers within the network and there is great potential to do a LOT of good for the animals and the people of South Florida.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
watching stray & homeless cats find loving homes, & preventing unwanted growth of the stray cat population by spaying and neutering. There are too many homeless and unwanted cats in this community, and I've seen first-hand how Cat Network makes its impact
