I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I provide psychotherapy primarily to sexually abused children and their families. Many of my clients also have developmental disabilities such as Down Syndrome or other cognitive delays. In addition to teaching skills that help prevent abuse and assault, I have found that my clients who go through a Kidpower workshop are helped significantly in their recovery process from abuse. This is because the children AND their caring adults learn to regain their power, their body integrity and their abilty to take charge of situations and stay safe. Thank you Kidpower!

I became a Kidpower instructor many years ago because Kidpower is an organization with enormous integrity. I teach the Kidpower safety skills to my clients and their families, who tell me it is a wonderful and necessary adjunct to their healing from trauma.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

it has enriched my professional practice, and also my personal family life and relationships with loved ones.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

professional, helpful and knowledgeable.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide safety skills to those who need them most but cannot access the services due to money, transportation, language and other barriers.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
