THE BUDDY PROGRAM INC

I am new to this organization, but was previously involved in experiential programming that is now being run by the Buddy Program. I have been amazed by the complete professionalism, efficiency and passion of the staff and how dedicated a base of volunteers they have. The impact that these buddy pairs have is amazing. Hearing stories and seeing first hand how much not only the kids have been impacted but the adults as well. It seems that sometimes the big buddies are learning just as much from their little buddies. I am just thrilled now that this organization is offering additional services through monthly life skills workshops, day camps and special trips all designed to really change kids lives. Now Buddies and those on the wait-list for Big Buddies have so much that they can be involved in. And with the Buddy Program hoping to expand further down valley, they will be able to serve even more kids in need.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

like it see the programs keep growing throughout the valley so that more kids can experience the amazing experiential programs and have the support and caring of a big buddy mentoring them in their lives.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

getting to know amazing kids who have faced challenges I cannot even imagine, and kids who are like me that still face amazing challenges.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated, passionate,so happy to be doing what they are doing and always want to do more.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand throughout the entire Roaring Fork Valley, serve more kids through mentoring and experiential programs, and have more ability to run experiential programming.

Ways to make it better...

I have had a great experience so far.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the same challenges of all organizations. Money. Big hearts and big dreams on the staff and they cannot all be realized because of funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I am honored to be a part of this organization and get to be a voice to advocate for it and all of the great kids that it serves.
