Breast Cancer Options Inc
June 27, 2010
I have been living with stage IV metastatic breast cancer for 5 years. A few years ago, as a single mom, I came upon extremely hard times when I found out I could no longer work due to my illness. I began to research organizations in my area and came across Breast Cancer Options.
The staff is extremely knowledgeable regarding assistance to patients undergoing treatments, as well as offering their own support programs. They helped me stay afloat during a very difficult time. Not only did they help me find the assistance I needed, my daughter was extended the opportunity to attend their Camp Lightheart. It is the highlight of her summers to go and be able to connect with other kids whose moms also have or had breast cancer.
The most important thing to me in regards to my relationship with Breast Cancer Options, is that not once have I ever been looked down on, regardless of my financial circumstances, and I have never been made to feel as "The Poor Cancer Patient," which I have with some other organizations, living with a terminal cancer.
My daughter and I are both eternally grateful to Breast Cancer Options and all that they offer in a serverely under-served area.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
that my daughter attends Camp Lightheart and that I have received support on so many levels from them.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
all the services it offers, but especially Camp Lightheart for kids.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
incredible in the level of care, concern, and compassion that they showed in helping me with my struggles.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
provide outstanding support services to an extremely under-served area.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every six months
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
Client Served & I received services and my daughter attends camp they provide.
