Share Self-Help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer, Inc.
June 15, 2010

This organization has been a sustaining force and friend for our cancer patients and survivors for several decades. Beyond their essential contribution as the largest breast cancer patient advocacy group in New York, SHARE is enhancing the knowledge of health care providers throughout NYC and helping hospitals like ours to make our service delivery more effective for ethnically diverse women. We anticipate that this collaboration will enable us to become better advocates on behalf of our diverse patients and survivors. We have grown a lot through our interactions with SHARE - they are an essential conduit for us to stay in touch with national and state level perspectives as well.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've personally grown in terms of my awareness of state and national issues - this organization has especially benefitted our Clinic in terms of patient advocacy and support; and literacy and language appropriate resources.

More feedback

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

our partnership for enhanced language-specific materials for diverse immigrant women in NYC

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

professional, focused, motivated.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand resources and personnel to other language specific groups and communities in NYC & provide enhanced support for women's health more generally (as well as cancer specific health needs).
