Compassion & Choices
February 20, 2009
Finding Compassion & Choices when my mother was diagnosed with late stage Ovarian Cancer was literally a life saver. Both my parents loved life, lived it fully, and always made clear that when they could no longer do so,they wanted to die with dignity.
The counseling services and support we received were phenomenal. Once my mother knew that her end-of-life decisions could be honored, she lived the last months of her life with the same spirit and zest that characterized her.
After she died, there was no question in my mind that I would work with Compassion and Choices to ensure that we can all have that same freedom of mind and heart at the end of life.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
giving my mother control and peace of mind at the end of her life. I've also seen that their educational efforts have worked in two states since I've become involved.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The people are great. The empathy and compassion of everyone involved makes a real difference.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
empathic, warm, extremely dedicated and knowledgable.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
put end of life decisions where they belong, in individual's hands.
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
Client Served & Received services, became a donor, and public advocate.
