I came to DFS Atlanta in 2001 when I moved from NYC. With my employment file transferred to the Atlanta branch, I was assured a job. No one told me the job was in Tucker, unable to be reached by MARTA. For the first time in my life I was unemployed. I also lost my apartment application. Me and my six year old was living with my sister in her one bedroom apartment sleeping on the floor. I applied for emergency food stamps and was told that I would have to join a job readiness program. I was referred to DFS Atlanta. Thats when my life changed for the better. I found a job, got an apartment, completed college, learned leaderships skills. It has been a life changing experience that has made me more productive and confident as a women.
