Board Of Religious Organizations
May 30, 2010
As a retired elementary school librarian, I want to see as many books as possible in the hands of the 4,000 or more children, who receive toys from BRO. My volunteer job is to keep the children's books organized by reading level, look for opportunities to get free books, buy new books with donated money but at the least expense and convince family, friends, neighbors and church members to donate new and lightly used books for children infants to 10 years old. I get a great pleasure out of sharing these books with the parents, helping them pick out what their children will like. Usually each child receives one new book and one or two slightly used books.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I had the wonderful experience of seeing parents so excited to receive toys from BRO to give to their children for Christmas when they would not be able to buy them. They are so appreciative to get this opportunity and have fun choosing some of the toys.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
I'm enjoying the friendships I've made with all the volunteers.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
I'd buy more expensive toys, books, games and puzzles to give each child.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every week
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
Volunteer & I organize donated children's books, buy new books with donated money and encourage friends and church members to donate new or gently used books. Each year we distribute at least one new and one or two gently used book to each child.
