I'm a psychologist and have worked with community programs in a training capacity for many years. I was looking for a program to volunteer in. I went to the Women's Empowerment office, viewed the hundreds of photos of women who have benefitted from this program, and was hooked! This program really works. Homeless women are given tools to help get jobs. Pure and simple. They can then get stable places to live and support their children in a good home environment.
Women's Empowerment is run in an atmosphere of respect and dignity. Many women say this is the first place in a long time where they can feel safe and accepted. The staff work hard to give these people what they need. This is a community program from Heaven. And, it's run by a true angel: Lisa Culp. I'm proud to be on the Board of Directors and will remain here as long as they'll have me!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Listening to the stories of women at graduation who have gotten jobs, housing, and are now supporting their children.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
They are caring and devote their energy to supporting both clients and volunteer staff. No administrative beaurocracy
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Helpful and knowledgeable
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Enlarge this program to serve more women. They have to turn women away. And, it could look for viable entrepreneurial ways to stabilize funding.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
