I was recently honored by Women's E-News as one of 21 Leaders for the 21st Century, along with 20 other amazing recipients. One was a man doing legal work on behalf of battered women. Other leaders included a doctor working in faraway places for maternal health and child well-being; women completing a Torah; policy makers;a fabulous 88 year old journalist courageously reporting throughout her life, and now onto a new project. The breadth and diversity of these leaders included, black, white, Muslim, Jewish, Christian, young, old, men, women from many parts of the globe. We had the pretty the passable, and the downright unclassifiable, and we were all dressed up, down, or well, how shall I say? uniquely. Pretty much like the world. This event was a microcosm: Women's E-News brings awareness TO the world, and FROM the world to all of us about women's issues and how important is is for women to be involved on every level on a global basis because the world works better when women are involved. Take Norway: they didn't go belly up. Why? Partly due to WOMEN being involved at higher levels with the economy. Yes to Women's E-News. They are dedicated, reliable, and trustworthy. It's one of the best run non-profits I know of effectively working to empower women across class, race, ethnic, religious and power divides. By sharing their knowledge every day, they are networking and uniting across boundaries for a purpose. I am a supporter, reader and enthusiast! Read Women's-E-News, get involved. Makes you know you can do something great every day.
