My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for HOPE HOUSE OF COLORADO, Arvada, CO, USA
I have been a volunteer with Hope House for two years. I continue to be impressed with their mission to help teen moms learn responsibility, discipline, respect and independence as well as parenting skills. I've been involved in helping a young mom learn how to plan meals, cook and budget for meals. It was rewarding to see the transformation of this young lady from a reluctant, insecure participant to an enthusiastic, confident and productive member of Hope House. With Hope House's structure and loving guidance she became a positive and gracious contributor and leader in this home. I also have had the privilege of tutoring to help students attain their GED which is so essential to their future success. I was able to tutor a young mom in writing skills to help enable her to pass entrance testing into a community college. She is now a CNA working in a local hospital and living independently with her two children. I have also worked in the office and am able to observe the sacrificial commitment of each of the staff. I'm encouraged by the staff's priorities and stewardship of the monies donated to help these young moms. Hope House is making a positive difference for many teen moms and for our society.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
everyone's grateful spirit in the office. Also it's been rewarding to personally observe change and success in several young mom's lives.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
gracious and very helpful.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
have greater impact on more young teen moms and pay the staff what they deserve.
