Support connection has been there for me since 2007 when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer. I don't know how I would have managed without the wonderful staff who helped me through a second cancer that same year. They are still with me now that my cancer has returned. When I am feeling down or afraid, they know just what to say so that I can make it through another day.

When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, my first call was to my doctor, my second to Support Connection. The Peer Counselors there helped me through the whole process from diagnosis to mastecomy, to chemo, to radiation and recovery. They were comforting since they had also been through cancer and knew what I was going through. They could give me advice, an ear when I needed to talk, and cheers when I finished treatment. The ladies have become an important part of my life and I now volunteer there. I would recommend Support Connection to any person going through breast or ovarian cancer as well as their caregivers.

The people I have met at Support Connection have been very caring and supportive. I have been able to laugh, cry and vent my frustrations throughout my cancer treatment. I always knew when I called that I would reach a knowledgeable,person.

The peer counselors were wonderful people who knew what it was like to go through the treatments and the changes it would make in my life. The organization has become very important to me even 2 years after treatment is over.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Spread the word to more women that help is available. There would be more programs in a more wide-spread area so that women from outside Northern Westchester and Putnam could benefit.
