My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Women's Fund Of Rhode Island, Providence, RI, USA
Starting as a grant reviewer, meeting the grantees and then serving as a board chair I have been surrounded by amazing women doing work to improve the environment for women and girls in our state. The mission and initiatives are progressive, innovative and brilliant. The state and national landscape that the Fund finds itself in is a challenging one, but the work is strengths-based, evidence-based and iterative. Initiatives have been in partnership, with sustainable systems change in mind.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The community and positive approach to what can seem daunting barriers for women and girls.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Knowledgeable, dynamic and positive.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Change the landscape of the legislature in RI and make policy changes that would make the state's funding more equitable for women and girls, reducing poverty and increasing social and economic conditions for families.
Ways to make it better...
I had more knowledge of the landscape of women's funding and how it generally works when I first joined the board.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Capacity and fundraising.
One thing I'd also say is that...
This is an agency that uses its resources wisely and is creating a wonderfu, open network of women in the state of RI.
