My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for International Crisis Aid Inc, St. Louis, MO, USA
I have volunteered with many organizations here in the states and have spent time as a volunteer with a larger non-profit organization, but none can compare to the passion, commitment, and transforming power that ICA delivers. From feeding programs,to child sponsorship,to their medical clinic and their rescuing of countless girls trapped in the horrors of sex trafficking, ICA is an organization that truely transforms the lives of those they help with dignity and preservation. Pat and Sue Bradley are full of compassion, integrity, and pursue their commitment to sustaining life in areas of crisis with an unyeilding strength. I have personally seen the transformation of those this organization has touched. I have been given the privledge to speak with young, terrified girls unsure of even their own shadow and see them blossom into captivating women, who are ready to go out and make a difference in the lives of others continuing the chain of love and security that they have recieved.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The opportunity to be transformed myself, to be broken, humbled, to have been able to give as well as to have recieved true and unconditional love.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
A-W-E-S-O-M-E ! From Jennifer, here in the USA, who is able to inspire anyone she meets, to Betty and Dr. Henok, Ethiopians, who are unrelentless in their work, to the rest of the Ethiopian staff who are full of love and dedication I cannot say enough.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Build a new hospital in Angatcha helping hundreds of women and their children. They could open more safehouses and rescue more girls from a life of destitution in the filthy and dangerous sextrade.
Ways to make it better...
My mission was laid out before me in such a way that I knew what needed to be done, and all of the resources were supplied to help me by an Ethiopian staff full of passion and committment. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Funding, with more funds, the good that ICA could do would be unfathomable.
One thing I'd also say is that...
My heart has been captivated by the love shown to me by both the staff and those that ICA has helped. I will be a lifelong supporter and advocate of ICA becuase of the integrity I have seen first hand. This is one organization worth recognizing.
