My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Friends of Saguaro National Park Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA
The Friends of SNP was organized by several volunteers to assist the park in projects that were not in the regular budget. The efforts began with local support and visitor donations. The Friends group now supports an educational program that provides local teachers with park experience which they are able to include in the regular school curriculum. It is a very popular and much needed program for this park as it is a unique wilderness area that is only minutes away from an urban area. The Friends also fund much needed research on the saguaros and animals of the Sonoran Desert.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
working with elected officials, schools, community members to increase the knowledge and knowledge of open space and natural environment.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
It was one of my greatest joys to work with such a uniuque park that gives so much to the local community and excites visitors from all over the world. The park staff has been wonderful to work with over the past 12 years.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
always dedicated to the protection and development of the park's environment.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
build a new visitor center in the Rincon Division. The existing center was built in the 1950"s. (The opark has two sections with the city of Tucson right in the middle)
