SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS WILDLIFE SOCIETY
April 27, 2010

I am grateful to the San Bernardino Mountains Wildlife Society which operates Wildhaven Ranch as a wildlife rehabilitation center and education center for the public, and to its founder, Diane Dragotto Williams, for allowing me to be a part of it. Wildhaven, as it is lovingly called, is for me a family affair. It began when I acceped a position on the Board of Directors in 2005. My love for this facility immediately grew by leaps and bounds. It spilled over to my grandson, daughter, and husband, and we have been involved ever since. Wildhaven is also an affair with the local community. People who live in our beautiful mountains appreciate the habitat Wildhaven Ranch provides for our indigenous animal population, both for those who are successfully released back into our forest and for those who find a sanctuary for a safe but dignified and fulfilling life. People who live here appreciate the opportunity to volunteer and experience (up close and personal) the true beauty of nature and its inhabitants. It is personally gratifying for me when I see Roger Williams tirelessly and patiently working with the youth who volunteer, and with Eagle Scouts as they complete their projects. I know these young people are experiencing a life-changing event. My family and I look forward to continuing our love affair with Wildhaven, its special caretakers, and its endearing animal population.
