My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Focus on Film, Montpelier, VT, USA
Once again, I was treated to my cultural highlight of the year. This festival is the best complement to living in Vermont. It's warm, accessible, intriguing, educational and transports me far and wide. I spend a couple of hours in a completely different place and then get dropped back into my friendly, beautiful home, sometimes with the benefit of a formal or informal discussion to bring the two worlds together. It's a departure and a homecoming with each film.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
see above - getting a big dose of different cultures, intellectual intrigue and just ideas and images that don't often cross my path here.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
terrific. It's great to get a friendly, funny, interested intro.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
MAYBE hire enough people to make life easier on Andrea, Rick and cohorts... Provide great film opportunities to area schools during (or before/after) the festivals.
Ways to make it better...
I didn't have to keep feeding my parking meter on the days when I don't have time to park outside of downtown.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
attracting enough viewers. seemed like quite a few showings weren't well attended. Did the festival do well enough?
One thing I'd also say is that...
I'm forever grateful.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
