PURR PAWS RESCUE INC
October 16, 2012

I have volunteered with Purr Paws rescue. They are a great organization. They rescue and rehabilitate many cats and kittens. One of their recent rescues was a cat named Cupid. He was named that because he was shot with an arrow, which was still sticking in him when he entered the city shelter. Purr Paws volunteers stepped forward and got this kitty what he needed. They found a great home for him, and now he gets all of the love he deserves. This group goes above and beyond, and is definitely a worthy rescue group and charity.

RESCUE BANK
October 16, 2012

Rescue Bank is a wonderful organization! They gather items that rescues need and distribute them. They are a rescue for rescues. They have gathered food, supplies, money, etc. They will take any item that anyone wants to donate and make sure that it gets put to good use. Rescuers always have to stretch to meet their needs, but Rescue Bank makes that so much easier. This allows the charities they serve to focus on their own mission, rather than spending additional time finding resources that they desperately need. They are a top notch charity.

TOMBALL SAVE OUR STRAYS INC
December 31, 2010

This is a phenominal group! Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow (nor heat) will stop these caring individuals from their call of duty. This group takes care of homeless (stray and feral) cats that live in and around Tomball, Texas. They provide food, water, shelter, and medical care, including trap-neuter-return (TNR) services to the silent strays that call the streets their home. This group has more dedication than any other group I've had the privilege to work with in the Houston metro area. If you're considering supporting this group, it is well worth it. All funds go to support the precious lives that they care for.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've helped this group with their TNR activities. It is a well organized group that has the cats' best interest at heart.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Give them more funding! There is so much need, and so little resources to go around for animals that need a helping hand.

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

More funding.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

I met some of the most dedicated rescuers in this group.

Spay-Neuter Assistance Program, Inc.
March 18, 2010

I have been involved with SNAP as a consumer, volunteer, donor, and former member of the board of directors for over a decade. SNAP is an excellent organization. It was the first group to have a mobile spay/neuter clinic. SNAP is innovative and very conscientious of how patients are cared for, and how funds are spent. SNAP is a very worthwhile charity that can be trusted to do the right thing for animals.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

many communities. They provide low-cost, high-quality services and are caring and compassionate animal advocates.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

try to increase services as much as possible without sacrificing quality.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the fact that they are great at what they do, and that they do it at an affordable cost.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly, fun-loving, warm people.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

hopefully bring an end to euthanasia and homeless animals in many communitites.

Ways to make it better...

they had more capacity to do what they do.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

too much need and too little resources with which to accomplish their mission.

One thing I'd also say is that...

SNAP is a wonderful organization that does a world of good. They help prevent suffering and euthansia by stopping the cycle. Please consider them when donating.
