My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Local Government Academy, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
When I first ran for Borough Council I was in over my head. I felt insecure, unsure, and overwhelmed. I was second guessing myself. Then I signed up for the LGA. I've saw fifty or so peers who were in the same boat as myself. All I wanted to do is to serve my community but I didn't know how. LGA gave me the tools to build up my confidence to do a great job for my community. I not only have self assurance, but I'm able to use those tools to navigate through the various problems and processes as they occur.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
They gave you a lot of handouts and valuable information. I also enjoyed the other students in this program. We shared stories, and some of them had some real problems.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Restore honesty and integrity back into government. We as a nation has lost it's way. The people who are now in office are supposed to serve the people and not serve themselves.
Ways to make it better...
The course was a year long. There was a lot of information and perhaps I could have digested the information a little better.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Perhaps lack of funding.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I really got my money's worth
