Review for Grand Marais Playhouse Inc, Grand Marais, MN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

A splendid mix of adult and kid plays happening year 'round! It's a true delight to live in a community with such quality theatre productions. Aside from an audience member, i have yet to participate in a show, but i always feel welcome to assist. There seems to be a place for everyone; from ushering, to costumes, to wrangling props, to make-up, to cleaning the popcorn machine, everyone is important. The Grand Marais playhouse is a true asset to our community and beyond. I'd miss it greatly if i ever moved!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

participating as an audience member and supporting the arts.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give Sue Hennessy a magic potion that would never allow her to tire (or age) =) in order to keep things running as they are, just great!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the joy of true community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

happy to participate and seemingly knew me both at the box office and also at the grocery store and beyond.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

assure arts forever within the local school district.

Ways to make it better...

i was certain i could hear every little child's voice on stage, a cronic theatre condition.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the on-going struggle to keep ticket prices down, although the Sunday "pay what you can" is awesome!

One thing I'd also say is that...

keep up the great work!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  General Member of the Public & a mother who appreciates the arts and has chosen to raise my child in a community that feels the same.
