My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Children Creating Bridges, West Chester, PA, USA
By integrating educational programs, cross-cultural outreach, art and crafts programs, music, yoga, and humanitarian assistance in a unique and masterful way, the CCB sets the example in taking volunteerism to the next level! Its accomplishments, the result of a rare perfect blend of vision, commitment, and action, are guideposts for others to follow. Many are those who recognize that children are the future, but the actionable engagement opportunities that the CCB provides to children and others are unmatched.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
(one idea) build on the music program, adding cultural festivals, foods from various parts of the world, etc., to provide synergized opportunities for cultural immersion.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the results that it obtains, the example that it sets, and the vision and inspiration that it provides.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
The CCB director, Wendy Keslick, is an exceptionally gifted leader, among the finest I have ever known, and she and her team get results far above and beyond the visions of other organizations!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
extend its reach and also hire some of its volunteers as full-time staff, thereby freeing them from day jobs and enabling them to focus full-time on the CCB.
Ways to make it better...
I lived in proximity to the CCB, which would enable me to participate in its activities. However, as it extends its reach, perhaps I can help establish a satellite program in my part of the world.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the same challenges faced by other volunteer groups in a not-enough-hours-in-the-day and information overload society (which impedes efforts to make one's organization stand out). The good news - the CCB has coped with these challenges well.
