My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Arts & Business Council Inc., New York, NY, USA
ABC's core mission is to be commended. Arts organizations, especially smaller ones, lack the business and legal knowldge needed to succssfully run an enterprise; by connecting business and legal minds with arts organizations ABC helps the arts community flourish. And they do a wonderful job at making those connections. This is one organization that has really carved an important niche. My only recommendation would be to form small "teams" of people from the business and legal worlds that would work together on a semi-regular basis. Each team, when needed and in amounts proportionate to their availability, could be deployed as needed. In this way ABC would always have people ready to go when issues pop up.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
its connecting two of my passions -- my work in law and the arts.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
lovely people who genuinely cared about the organization's mission.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
employ more full time individuals and provide great and more full-fledged services to arts organization. It would also be able to get its name out there more so arts organizations knew where to go for assistance.
Ways to make it better...
the assignment were broader.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
finding volunteers and getting its name out there to more organizations.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Fran does a wonderful job coordinating.
