My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Music Center of the Northwest, Seattle, WA, USA
After the birth of my second child, I struggled to find a way to make time to play the piano as I had since I was a child. The structure of lessons seemed a good bet, I heard about MCNW, and I found an excellent teacher there. My younger children then took Music Together, and my older child requested a class, too. She enjoyed a group intro piano class but was enchanted by a practicing violin the next studio over. She has been playing violin ever since, and her siblings have followed suit -- all at MCNW.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the diversity of age groups and experience levels it serves--it truly feels open to the whole community.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
have more leverage in retaining the great teachers it has, improve facilities, do more community outreach, increase scholarship programs.
Ways to make it better...
we hadn't had to change teachers halfway through our first year. This was a traumatic change for my young daughter, but she bounced back and stuck with it, and we've had continuity with her new teacher ever since.
