My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Artomatic, Washington, DC, USA
Of all of the places that I have had the opportunity to perform, Artomatic 2009 was by far my favorite experience, so far. I am a great admirer of graffiti art, so having the backdrop of the stage covered with such art was a great start. Performing with such a diverse group of performers, and being surrounded by unique art that you would have to attend multiple galleries to see, was incredible! I spent the rest of the day, in between performers, checking out each floor of art. A week later, I came back again to focus solely on the different art exhibitions. I was floored. The inspiration of that event is still with me. I plan to come back next time!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I made a lot of contacts with likeminded artists and got a lot of inspiration and ideas from seeing such a diverse spectrum of methods of expression exhibited.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Being surrounded by uninhibited forms of expression.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Very nice and welcoming. They all seemed to enjoy the environment, as well.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
...promote the event to a greater extent so that as many people as possible could hear about it, and get the chance to have such an altering experience as I had. It would also allow the organization a chance to bring in more artists from outside of DC.
Ways to make it better...
The parking was difficult due to a baseball game taking place next door. That's the only negative.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Having enough time to fit everything in (seminars, etc).
