Review for Christian Community Action Inc, Ruston, LA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

Christian Community Action does wonderful work helping families in crisis, supporting them on the road to self sufficiency, and enabling them to become advocates for others in need.

Role:  Board Member & I have participated in Board deliberations and did what I could to help with fund-raising efforts.

Review for Christian Community Action, New Haven, CT, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am constantly amazed by how much this organization does with so little money to help families in crisis on the road to self sufficiency.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

getting to know the board and staff members who make it work.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

good people who believe in CCA's mission.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

establish an endowment to help assure a stable source of funding.

Ways to make it better...

new board members had been given a tour of the programs.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

inadequate resources from public and private sources.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I wish more people knew what great work this organization does.

Role:  Board Member & I am still learning about CCA's programs.

Review for Christian Community Action Inc, Ruston, LA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

I continue to be impressed by what Christian Comunity Action accomplishes with a staff worth significantly more that they are paid, and despite recent cuts in state support. Ninety percent of the families completing CCA's Stepping Stones transitional housing program move on to permanent housing, well on their way to self-sufficiency.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Dedicated and enthusistic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Establish an endowment fund, raise staff salaries to competitive levels, and reinstate and expand its program of internships, vocational opportunities and training.
