Review for Community Services League, Independence, MO, USA
As an organization with a history spanning nearly 100 years of service in Jackson County, Community Services League has never faltered from its efforts to help families overcome economic crisis and return them to self-sufficiency. Community Services League serves over 19,000 families each year with food, housing, clothing, utility assistance, school supplies, Christmas programs, and employment services.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The sincere compassion and understanding that families receive when they seek assistance.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Dedicated to serving their community members and making a difference in the lives of their neighbors.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
It could expand hours to be more accessible to the growing number of working poor families, increase employment assistance programs, open more locations, and provide help for all those needing assistance.
Ways to make it better...
Always the need is for funds. Unfortunately, there are families we are not able to help because of a lack of available funds.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
During hard economic times, the demand escalates, but frequently donations drop.
One thing I'd also say is that...
If you want your donation used effectively and efficiently to provide help to the poor and low income, this is the agency that will do. With only 12 staff and hundreds of volunteers every dollar makes a big difference.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
