THE WATSON INSTITUTE FRIENDSHIP ACADEMY
October 22, 2013

I am a parent of an autistic 21 year old. When my son was diagnosed by Watson back in 1994, we were stunned and honestly didn't hold out much hope for him. Though my son has obviously NOT been cured, he has progressed remarkably well, mainly due to the education services provided by the Watson people.

In addition to the wonderful service provided by Watson, this institution helps train special education teachers in individual school districts. Watson has been as such an inspiration, I can only hope that they continue to do their work at the same high standard that my son expereinced.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Continue to expand its main campus size and further grow its' teacher training program

VERLAND FOUNDATION INC
October 22, 2013

Verland has continued to neglect basic reporting of controlled substance losses to the PA Department of Health and DEA since 2009. Verland continues to make continued errors in patient care, record keeping and investigations of abuse. A Verland CLA resident died in the SPring of 2013, due to getting the wrong food consistency.

Fortunately some parents have decided to sue Verland and bring these problems to light. I applaud the bravery of such parents, especially in light of the eviction of Larry Snyder in 2007, due to his father complaining to the State about his son's 16 broken bones over ten years in Verland's "care".

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Revoke their license and have the State take over management of the facility until a proper management team can be put in place.
