My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Indicorps, Ahmedabad, --, India
I completed the Indicorps Fellowship by volunteering with a small, grassroots NGO in a remote, mountain-top, tribal village in Tamil Nadu. I assisted the NGO with implementing their first nutrition interventions in the community including introducing a new, locally sustainable technology wherein 2 clay pots, some sand, and water could be used to create a rural refrigerator. As much as I worked to create a sustainable impact on the lives of the villagers, the greatest impact was on me and how I learned to be a better leader and person. This is why I continue to be involved with mentoring current fellows.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the year that I spend as an Indicorps Fellow in a remote, mountain-top village in Tamil Nadu, India.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The ongoing life lessons that can be applied no matter what I do next.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
passionate, inspired, inspiring, humble, and talented.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
change the nature of service in India and the world. Perhaps inspire a generation to be the change they want to see in the world.
