Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations
November 13, 2009

I was elected Vice President of Manhattan and Bronx branch of American Association of Veterans of WWII from FSU. The most important task was to make a list of veterans for a medal "65 Years of Great Victory." I couldn't do it all by myself, and all local organizations were obviously neglect. But COJECO answered immediately, and next day I had a meeting with a coordinator Rimma Khalamov. She found volunteers who were calling to veterans; made a deal with "Forum" newspaper to publish my ad; invited me to use COJECO conference room to meet with veterans; made copies and typed all materials; wrote a following letter to Washington and mailed a package to Washington. Also she helped me to send letters to different organizations of Manhattan to help old veterans. In behalf of Manhattan veterans I'd like to thank COJECO for a big benevolent timely help. The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

COJECO's help is real and fast; COJECO solves urgent non-standard problems.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I'd collect more organizations under COJECO umbrella.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Staff members are 100% dedicated, initiative and kind.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

initiative, sincere, well-wishing, and work wholeheartedly.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

improve a quality of life of many people.

Ways to make it better...

my experience with COJECO would be longer.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Probably fundings.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I can't propose much without experience long enough.

I arrived in USA in 1996. Immediately I became to work in these two associations mentioned bellow, I participate actively in activities of the Vinnitsa friendly association (I was born in Vinnitsa, about 40 years I lived and worked in Petersburg). I spare big time working on radio "Our Voice": I direct a program "Outstanding Jews" since 1998. I am a member of Editorial Board of Collection of Information of AAJSFSU. I am one of the author-compilers of the Voters' Reference Book (with Inna Arolovich and William Gil).
