THE HOMELESS FAMILIES FOUNDATION
November 10, 2009

I came to The Homeless Families Foundation a little over a year ago after working with a Boys & Girls Club. I wanted the opportunity to continue to work with children afterschool and in the summer. Since coming here I have been amazed at the academic standards the HFF Dowd Education Center provides for these innocent victims of homelessness. The meals, classwork and enrichment activities are provided in a safe and caring environment where everyone is encouraged to do their best. Seeing these children grow has been very rewarding for me.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my daily interactions with the children at the HFF Dowd Education Center.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase the number of staff at the Dowd Education Center so that more children could attend and increse the resources available to all of HFF so that more could be done to end homelessness in Columbus.

More feedback

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

having the opportunity to work directly with children every day and see they smile

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

considerate and dedicated to the children and their families.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

end homelessness in Columbus, provide afterschool and summer academic assistance to a larger number of at-risk children, and duplicate these efforts in multiple sites around town.

Ways to make it better...

I could find a way to do more on a daily basis to improve the lives of the children being served.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding for operations and staffing.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This is truly a place where homeless families find the caring guidance they need to get back on their feet.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
