The Children's Scholarship Fund has a simple mission: empowering low-income parents to have meaningful choices in their children's education through partial scholarship awards. The key to the program is that every family pays some of their children's tuition themselves, so students and parents are highly motivated to get the most out of their opportunities. The scholarships are truly a "hand up," rather than a "handout." I am director of the Portland, Oregon partner program, CSF-Portland. We are proud of the achievements of our graduates. Our students are grateful to our benefactors and are working hard to reach their dreams. The New York Children's Scholarship Fund has a long track record of success and is a very cost-effective charity. Not only are the directors and staff passionate, but they are highly effective. I am delighted to be a donor as well as a partner.
