Mitziut
November 3, 2009

This is a community where people are committed to creating the community - and world - of their dreams. Other kinds of Jewish communities haven't worked for us, so we are creating our own - and it can be anything and everything we want it to be. Mitziut is visionary, creative, innovating, daring, and fiercely independent.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

attending vibrant services, being invited to participate in organizing the community

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't - it is what it is! Mitziut grows and changes with the folks who are involved; it exists to support the beautiful spiritual journeys of its members and it is what its members make it. and that's a beautiful ting.

More feedback

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

How committed people are to making it a community that works for them, by bringing whatever it is they have to offer.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Honest, hard-working, generous, creative, brave,

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Plant seeds and cultivate small, community-based, highly participatory and egalitarian Jewish communities all over the world; support and nurture innovative Jewish thought and community-building in Chicago; support queer Chicago youth experiencin homeless

Ways to make it better...

there were more young people involved and if I felt comfortable bringing more of my identities and politics into the community.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the broader american jewish context, entrenched patriarchy, capitalism

One thing I'd also say is that...

this community has a special place in my heart and it knows how to throw a rocking dance party.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
